The handkerchief is part of the Mourning set worn by Zuzu Angel at the closing of the International Dateline Collection III - Holiday and Resort parade-protest in 1971 in New York. According to Hildegard Angel, it is an "allegorical" look, which includes besides the clothes a belt and glue crosses. A replica was made for the exhibition at the National Historical Museum in 1996.

Description of complementary clothes:
Zuzu mourning dress: long dress, trapeze style, made in black plowed silk and long sleeves. Sleeves with a frown on the shoulders, straight V cleavage, slightly rounded, with two cutouts at the front, starting at the armholes. Hems and wrists are hand sewn, the hem being made with a tack. Closing at the back with brackets and a 0, 53 cm zipper. Inside the piece, at the height of the shoulders, there is a metal snap button, with a part stuck to the piece and another in a strap sewn to the piece.
Mourning dress – the pain of Zuzu [in devorê silk]: shirt dress, fitted at the waist, in black polka dot devoré, half sleeve with elastic at the wrists and a V neck. Has frills on the cleavage and hem. The closing on the front has four buttons lined with the same fabric. Has two internal shoulder pads. The inner black lining is sewn at the waist.
Zuzu mourning shawl: plowed silk neckscarf with fringes. The fringes were hand sewn, and the silk has a straight seam machine sewn hemline. There is a patch of the same fabric on one of the sides.
Zuzu mourning necklace: Silver necklace with flowers and an angel in white, pink, blue, green and orange. The angel is proned at the center of the piece, holding a flower bouquet over 0, 14 cm a metal support with leaf trimmings. Around it, there are flowers and leafs, as well as on the three pendants, each being 0, 05 cm, right below the angel. The chain is made of metal, is 0, 15 cm long and has blue dots. The closing is a buoy style.
