The smiles of Bia Genuncio and Rafael Gonçalves reflected their joy for the good deed carried out yesterday, Thursday. At the suggestion of Bia (Ana Beatriz), Rafael formalized the donation to Casa Zuzu Angel / Museu da Moda of a work by Zuzu Angel, from the series "Pastoral", dated 1970. The piece was given to Rafael's mother by one of Zuzu's most assiduous clients, Helõ Amado, from the traditional society of Rio de Janeiro. It is a unique garment, as no two "Pastoral" pieces are the same, since the distribution of the lace in the patchwork varies from one assembly to the next. It is a dress with a skirt-pants, which was a big trend that season, with varied lace in shades of beige and pure silk fringes interspersed with rosewood beads. This timeless model was one of the most exported by the designer to department stores Bergdorf Goodman and Lord & Taylor.
Yesterday was visitors' day at Casa Zuzu Angel, which receives visitors on Thursdays, with advance booking via email: zuzuangel@zuzuangel.com.br. The exhibition Fragmentos de Zuzu is on display, with guided tours by our curators, Simone Costa and Sofia Duarte. What about you? Do you have any pieces in the back of your closet or in your storage that could be included in the collection of the only Fashion Museum in Rio de Janeiro? If you have any pieces, whether fashion, lingerie, swimwear, bathing suits, accessories, representative of past eras, by national or foreign designers, or with stories to tell about them, please contact us: zuzuangel@zuzuangel.com.br
