Clothes history: The title attributed by Zuzu Angel was “Rain”, for the dress that she designed for her daughter, Ana Cristina. Later on, it was renamed as Pepsi Ladies dress, as a reference to the fact that the actress Joan Crawford, who ordered an identical model, had been married to one of Pepsi Cola’s biggest shareholders and became a member of the brand’s board after her husband’s death. According to Hildegard Angel, the dress was originally made for a fashion show and worn by her sister, Ana Cristina, at a party held in Copacabana Palace’s Golden Room, in Rio de Janeiro, on December 1967. On this particular occasion, Joan Crawford’s going away party, the actress requested a dress of the same model to the designer for herself.
