Clothes history: Wide cotton dress, made to receive at home or be used socially as the Caftans, much in vogue in the 1970s. Also according to Hildegard Angel (2017), it was a daring to mix chess, stripes, prints in a single fabric at that time. Exclusive print created by Zuzu Angel, patented by Hildegard Angel.

Clothes description: Dress (Robe d’hôstesse), made in cotton, with short sleeves. The patterned print has a sequence of angels, vertical stripes and checkered print in white, navy blue, light blue, violet and orange. The dress has two pockets, being one on each side. The name Zuzu Angel can be seen on the right-side pocket, arising from the fabric’s halo. The dress’ closing is located at the back, with a 0, 41 cm white polyester zipper. There is a bracket missing on one of the sides above the zipper. The hem is finished with a 0, 9 cm hemline, made in overlock stitching and hand made seam. The pattern has some defects, such as stains from it’s own paint. The polybel fabric comes from Dona Isabel’s factory. The width between the armholes is 0, 45 cm and the dress’ hem is 0, 66cm wide.

Fabric sample palette [angels and stripes - 1]

Palette with samples of colored polybel fabric. The fabric has a patterned print of angels and stripes in three different combinations: orange, purple, light blue and dark blue; yellow, purple, green and pink; and green, red, navy blue and purple. The top part has an attached black tag with the wording “Polybel Dona Isabel” (Dona Isabel Polybel) in golden. The front and back of the catalog are orange and the front has inscriptions and drawings in purple, dark green, red, dark red and white.

The fabric has a patterned print of angels and stripes cin three different combinations: orange, purple, light blue and dark blue; yellow, purple, green and pink; and green, red, navy blue and purple. The top part, where the fabric sample is attached to paper, has the words “Grabam cotton” written on it, while the other side has the article and fabric composition (67% polyester 33% cotton) written in pen and “galão 17” (17 gallon) written in pencil. The side of the samples has a numbering: 1328 gallon 16; the writings are white and the background is orange.
