Clothes history:
Dress created for the fashion shows held by Zuzu Angel at her home-studio in Ipanema. This piece is part of the apostolates collection, which was launched in August 1979, in Rio de Janeiro. When premiering her first collection in New York, in November 16th 1970, the designer created new models from the same concept. [This piece was probably part of two almost consecutive fashion shows]. According to Hildegard Angel (December 2016 statement), the Apostolates Collection can have a double meaning: a tribute to the apostolates managed by Dom Paulo Evaristo Arns (significant charity branch in Rio de Janeiro, founded the bank of providence and the apostolates) as well as the name of actual herdswomen. Even tough the lace [applied to the dress] may have come from the Northeast, at the time they were called North lace.
