According to Hildegard Angel (march 2017 interview), the piece was made from leftover pieces of the clothes, so that there could be a maximum usage of raw material [sustainability] and were sold in her stores. The tray cloths, coasters and other pieces made from leftover fabric kept on being produced after Zuzu’s death and sold up until the closing of the store in 1978.
